
The persimmon fruit scientific name is
Diospyos from family Ebenaceae. The rind of persimmon fruit generally
in yellowish orange to red orange in color. The shape is in spherical
with diameter vary from 2 to 9cm. It is a national fruit of Japan.
The fruit come in two varieties astringent and non astringent.
Astringent persimmon will lose bitter when it is become custard soft
and ripen. The non astringent persimmon is less astringent when unripe
and the flesh is firm and crunchy when ripe. Non astringent fruit
normally eaten fresh.

In malaysia, mosy planter persimmon type is non astringent Fuyu
spesies. It is yellow orange color with firm,sweet and crunchy flesh.

The persimmon tree is a medium size, slow growing tree as high until 26
feet. While young, the leave are pale, slight yellow green and turning
to dark green while aged. The shape is ovate and long until 6 inches
with widely 4 inches. The tree suitable grows above 1000 meter of sea
level. Persimmon tree prefer soil with well drained with pH around 5.5
until 7.5.
